The J30-762-06005 from Industrial Hardware and Specialties is a chemically cleaned, stainless type 18-8, vented flat head machine screw. The vented machine screw is 5/16" ( 0.3125 ) long with a diameter thread pitch of 2-56 ( UNC-2A ). The Stainless Slotted Flat Head Vented Machine Screw: 2-56 x 5/16 requires a slotted drive for installation. The slotted flat head vented machine screw is drilled with a 0.028" hole to allow for trapped gases to escape. It meets fastener standard ANSI/ASME B18.6.3, and thread standard ANSI/ASME B1.1.

This feature helps to eliminate the possibility of virtual leaks as the hole allows gas molecules to vent into the vacuum system through the top of fastener and out of the system.
