The J30-754-06004 from Industrial Hardware and Specialties is a chemically cleaned, stainless type 18-8, vented headless set screw. The vented set screw is 1/4" ( 0.25 ) long with a diameter thread pitch of 2-56 ( UNC-3A ). The Stainless Headless Vented Socket Set Screw: 2-56 x 1/4 requires a 0.035" hex socket for installation. The hex socket headless vented set screw is drilled with a 0.028" hole to allow for trapped gases to escape. It meets fastener standard ANSI/ASME B18.3, and thread standard ANSI/ASME B1.1.
Industrial Hardware and Specialties vented caps screws are ideally suited for fastening inside high vacuum (UV), or ultra high vacuum (UHV) equipment as well as other high pressure environments. The Stainless Headless Vented Socket Set Screw: 2-56 x 1/4 comes with a 0.028" hole drilled through it's head. This feature helps to eliminate the possibility of virtual leaks as the hole allows gas molecules to vent into the vacuum system through the top of fastener and out of the system.
