What is a Rod End? |
|
A rod end is mechanical articulating joint, which is comprised of a threaded shaft and a ball swivel with an opening through which a bolt or other hardware can pass. The thread may be either male or female. The advantage of a rod end is that the swiveling ball allows bolts and other hardware passing through it to be misaligned to an angle other than 90 degrees. |
