What is a Tie Rod Assembly? |
|
A tie rod is a skinny structural unit used as a tie and capable of carrying tensile loads only. A tie rod may feature a turnbuckle in the middle and two clevises attached to either side (right handed or left handed) or just two clevises with no turnbuckle. Tie rods are useful in adding strength, length and/or tension to a project. They are used in various applications including canopies, walkway hangers, and structural steel bracing. Tie rods are usually made with either plain, galvanized, or stainless steel. |
