Which style do I need?Industrial Hardware and Specialties offers Hager Stainless Steel Continuous Hinges in four distinct styles: Hager Stainless Steel Continuous Concealed Leaf Hinge - Concealed leaf hinges are mounted between the frame and the hinge edge of the door. Hager Stainless Steel Continuous Half Mortised Hinge - Half mortised hinges are applied with one leaf mortised into an edge of the door, while another is surface applied to the door frame. Hager Stainless Steel Continuous Full Surface Hinge - Full surface hinge are used with both leaves surface applied, one to the door and the other to the door frame. The hinge will be fully visible when door is closed. 3. What Size Hinge do I need?Industrial Hardware and Specialties offers Hager Stainless Steel Continuous Hinges in all the most common door size lengths. All 790 Series stainless steel continuous hinges are always installed flush with the top edge of the door. Recommended headclearance is 1/8” (3 mm). Order each hinge equal to the net door height. In the field, trimming should be done from the bottom of the hinge only. | |
4. Do I need an electrified hinge, and what is the centerline?If you need an electrified hinge please reference the Industrial Hardware and Specialties Knowledge Base. 5. How to select handing?A standard door used in common applications is said to be either right or left handed depending on which way the door swings open and where the hinges are positioned. If you are standing outside of a door and it swings open to the right away, then the door is right handed with right handed hinges. If the door swings open to the left away from you, the door is left handed with left handed hinges. If the door swings towards you to the right, then it is right handed reverse and if it swings open towards you to the left, it is left handed reverse.
